Brad A. Bernstein
Partner

Mr. Bernstein is a founding partner of SE Capital and brings over 20 years of private equity and investment banking experience to the firm.  Mr. Bernstein focuses on identifying new investment opportunities and works with portfolio companies on corporate planning, strategic development and financial management initiatives.  Additional responsibilities include sharing overall administrative and operating duties for SE Capital. 

Prior to SE Capital, Mr. Bernstein was a Managing Director and Practice Leader in the Investment Banking Division of JP Morgan & Company, Inc. and was a senior member of the High Yield Capital Markets Group at JP Morgan Securities, Inc.  Before that, Mr. Bernstein spent 12 years in various banking, capital markets, and corporate finance positions with BancAmerica Robertson Stephens, NationsBanc Montgomery Securities, LLC and First Chicago Capital Markets, Inc.  Mr. Bernstein has served on the Board of Directors of numerous companies including, Perceptis, LP, SSIMed Holdings, LLC, WNC Insurance Service Companies, Inc., and Telemedicine Solutions, LLC. 

Mr. Bernstein earned an MBA from The Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.  He also holds a BA in Finance from the University of South Florida and currently serves as a member of the business school's Executive Advisory Council.


Jeffrey C. Kvam
Partner

Mr. Kvam is a founding partner of SE Capital and brings over 20 years of principal investment, consulting and operating management experience to SE Capital.  Mr. Kvam devotes most of his time working with portfolio companies to improve operating efficiency and overall business performance.  He also works to develop new investment ideas and shares administrative and operating responsibilities for SE Capital.

Prior to SE Capital, Mr. Kvam was President and CEO of Capita Technologies, a 400-person business consulting firm. He managed this company through the completion - and successful integration - of five acquisitions and profitably oversaw its expansion to eight U.S. offices prior to being sold in 2000.  Previously, he was a Vice President at Goldman Sachs, L.P. in the Investment Banking Group.  Earlier, he was Vice President & General Manager of the financial services division at MCI Systemhouse Inc. and Associate Director of information technology at Swiss Bank Corporation.  He started his career as a management consultant with Deloitte & Touche.  Mr. Kvam has held seats on a variety of corporate boards, including Capita Technologies, LLC, Perceptis, LP, Convergis, LLC and SSIMed Holdings, LLC. 

Mr. Kvam received a Master's in Mathematics from Northwestern University and a BA from St. Olaf College.


Paul O. Mulvaney
Principal

Mr. Mulvaney joined SE Capital in 2005 as a Principal and brings over ten years of investment banking experience to the partnership.  At SE Capital, Mr. Mulvaney is responsible for business development activities such as originating and evaluating new investments, managing the due diligence process, negotiating financing agreements, and portfolio company monitoring.  Additionally, Mr. Mulvaney acts as the primary contact for financing sources. 

Prior to joining SE Capital, Mr. Mulvaney was a Vice President at JP Morgan & Company from 2000 to 2005.  During his time at JP Morgan, Mr. Mulvaney advised middle market companies in both the Industrial Merger & Acquisition Group and the Capital Markets Group.  Before joining JP Morgan, Mr. Mulvaney spent 5 years in various investment banking and high yield finance roles with BancAmerica Robertson Stephens and NationsBanc Montgomery Securities, LLC. 

Mr. Mulvaney earned an MBA from The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and a BS in Finance from Indiana University.


Emily Reynolds
Associate

Ms. Reynolds joined SE Capital in 2001 as an analyst.  Prior to SE Capital, Ms. Reynold’s worked at Capita Technologies on the completion and integration of acquisitions, and stayed with the company through the sale and transition process to Interpublic Group.  At SE Capital, Ms. Reynolds assists in coordinating the partners’ efforts to identify and qualify new investment opportunities and provides support to the firm’s analytical and due diligence process.  She also handles general office management for SE Capital, including accounting, insurance and finance matters. 

Ms. Reynolds graduated from Vanderbilt University with a BS in Economics and Human and Organizational Development.
